Mazatlán vs León

Mazatlán FC produced a stunning attacking display to thrash Club León 4-2 at Estadio El Encanto in Jornada 10 of the Liga MX Clausura. Despite holding just 36% possession, the hosts were ruthless on the counter in a dominant home performance. Édgar Bárcenas opened the scoring in the 25th minute before Brian Rubio doubled the lead on 38 minutes with an assist from Sebastián Santos. Ismael Díaz pulled one back for León just before half-time (44'), but Rubio restored the two-goal cushion with a header moments into the second half (47'). Josué Ovalle headed home a fourth on 69 minutes to put the result beyond doubt. Diber Cambindo grabbed a late consolation for the visitors deep into stoppage time (90'+5'). The win lifts Mazatlán to 14th on 10 points — level with León in 13th — as both sides remain on the fringes of the playoff picture in an increasingly tight mid-table battle.
