Club Brugge edged out a scrappy 1-0 win at Lommel SK, but it was far from the comfortable night the visitors might have hoped for against newly promoted opposition putting up a real fight. The only goal came right on the stroke of halftime, in the 45th minute, when Kyriani Sabbe's low ball across the box was turned into his own net by Timothy Eyoma. Club Brugge thought they'd doubled their lead around the 75th minute through Nicolò Tresoldi, but it was chalked off for offside. Yann Sommer had to be alert too, denying Don-Angelo Konadu one-on-one and later smothering a tame effort from Dries Wouters. F. Potts picked up a late yellow card as both sides made fresh changes down the stretch. For Club Brugge, it's a bounce-back result after their first league loss of the season, lifting them into the top three. Lommel can take heart from another spirited display against top-flight opposition despite falling just short.
