Libya vs Niger
Match Report
Libya and Niger played out a cagey 0-0 draw at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca on Thursday, in the opening round of the Morocco, Capital of African Football tournament.
Five yellow cards were dished out across a scrappy 90 minutes — three to Niger and two to Libya — as a fractious contest between two stubborn defences produced little in the way of clear-cut chances.
Aliou Cisse's Libya sat deep in a cautious 5-4-1, happy to keep things tight, while Badou Zaki's Niger carried more attacking intent from their 4-3-3 but lacked the final ball to make it count.
Both sides will look to improve when the tournament resumes on March 31, with Libya facing Liberia and Niger taking on Togo as preparations continue for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
