KuPS vs Gent

Gent dominated the game in Tampere on Thursday night but could not find a way past Gustav Kreidl, and the Conference League tie with KuPS finished 0-0. KuPS had to play their home fixture away from Kuopio, on artificial turf, because their own ground does not meet European standards. There were no goals and no red cards. Josué Vergara, back from injury, had the best of the early openings, but his first-time shot from a cross and a header both went wide. Hyllarion Goore volleyed over the bar and Abdelkahar Kadri forced Gustav Kreidl into saves in the second half. KuPS managed only a handful of attempts, the last of them a long shot from Gustav Engvall that cleared the crossbar in stoppage time. Yellow cards went to Momodou Lamin Sonko and Taneli Hämäläinen, among others. Gent's keeper Davy Roef had little to do, but the 90 minutes took him past Rolando Mandragora as the player with the most minutes in Conference League history, 3,890 against 3,818. Gent have 4 points from three games, after a 1-0 defeat at Lommel in the league last weekend, and they host Red Star Belgrade on 26 November. KuPS have 1 point from three.
