Greece vs Germany

Greece and Germany played out a goalless draw at Toumba Stadium, with the closest call coming early when Giorgos Masouras rose to meet a cross inside the box, only for his header to be brilliantly saved. From there the hosts dug in, soaking up pressure from a German side that controlled possession for long spells without finding a breakthrough. The biggest talking point arrived midway through the first half when Jonathan Burkardt thought he had scored, only for VAR to chalk off the finish over a foul in the build-up. Yellow cards flowed too, with Tsimikas, Zafeiris and Saliakas booked for Greece and Anton, Treu and Thiaw cautioned for Germany. Keeper Konstantinos Tzolakis was the night's standout, repelling wave after wave of German attacks to keep the clean sheet intact. The point lifts Greece level with the Netherlands atop Group A2, while Germany slips to third under Jurgen Klopp and now needs results against Serbia to keep quarter-final hopes alive.
