Toronto vs Colorado Rapids
Match Report
Toronto FC pulled off a remarkable comeback at BMO Field on Saturday, rallying from 2-0 down to stun Colorado Rapids 3-2. Josh Sargent headed home his first MLS goal in the 85th minute to cap one of the wildest games of the 2026 season.
Paxten Aaronson curled in a free kick (51') and Keegan Rosenberry doubled the lead three minutes later as the Rapids looked comfortable. But Richie Laryea fired into the top corner (65') to spark the fightback, and when Rafael Navarro collected a second yellow (75'), Colorado crumbled.
A howler from goalkeeper Zack Steffen — an own goal off a botched backpass from Rosenberry — leveled things at 2-2 before Sargent nodded home an Alonso Coello corner to complete the turnaround. Three red cards in total made for a frantic, ill-tempered contest.
The win lifts Toronto to seventh in the Eastern Conference on 10 points, while Colorado sit seventh in the West with nine after a second-half collapse that will sting.
