FC Utrecht vs Go Ahead Eagles

FC Utrecht made light work of Go Ahead Eagles, cruising to a 2-0 victory at a packed Galgenwaard with both goals arriving before the break. Artem Stepanov's audacious finish, twice rounding goalkeeper De Busser before slotting home, was the standout moment on a comfortable afternoon. Gjivai Zechiël set the tone early, nodding in from an Ángel Alarcón delivery on 16 minutes for his sixth goal of the campaign. Stepanov then doubled the lead in the 37th minute with that brilliant individual effort, effectively ending the contest before half-time. Go Ahead Eagles had the lion's share of possession but rarely threatened, with Utrecht's backline recording a fourth consecutive clean sheet. A flat display from the visitors, who had arrived full of confidence after thumping NAC Breda 6-0 last time out. The win lifts Utrecht to seventh in the Eredivisie, while Go Ahead Eagles remain stuck in 12th.
