Estudiantes LP claimed their first win of the 2026 Libertadores with a 2-1 victory over Cusco FC at the Jorge Luis Hirschi stadium. The match's defining subplot belonged to Lucas Colitto — the man who levelled for the visitors before sealing their own doom just minutes later. Facundo Farías opened the scoring on 27 minutes, only for Colitto to respond with a stunning strike on 31 to level things up. Tiago Palacios restored Estudiantes' advantage three minutes into the second half, and on 50 minutes Colitto picked up his second yellow card and was sent off, leaving Cusco to battle out the remaining 40 minutes a man short. The result gives Estudiantes their first group-stage points after drawing 1-1 away at Medellín on matchday one. Cusco FC, who also lost their opener 0-2 to Flamengo, are now pointless after two rounds and face a steep climb if they hope to reach the knockout stage.
