Match Report
Gent eased to a comfortable 3-1 win at the Stade Van Roy on Sunday, condemning Dender to a ninth consecutive defeat in the Pro League. Max Dean gave the visitors an early lead in the 11th minute, finishing smartly from a Wilfried Kanga assist, but Dender responded almost immediately as Fabio Ferraro netted his first goal of the season on 14 minutes to level things at the break.
The second half was a different story. Abdelkahar Kadri restored Gent's advantage on 65 minutes after good work from Michal Skoras, and Kanga put the result beyond doubt with a late strike in the 89th minute — capping a superb display of a goal and an assist.
The win keeps Gent locked in fourth spot as they eye a top-four finish, while Dender remain anchored to the foot of the table in 16th. Nine losses in a row tells its own story — time is fast running out in Denderleeuw.
