Cusco vs Flamengo

Flamengo arrived in Cusco and left with three points, beating Cusco FC 2-0 in a Copa Libertadores Group A opener that will be remembered for a dramatic VAR overrule at altitude.

Bruno Henrique headed the visitors in front on 59 minutes. The hosts thought they had levelled when Marlon Ruidías found the net around the 65th minute, but a marginal offside confirmed by VAR wiped it out, deflating the Estadio Inca Garcilaso de la Vega. Goalkeeper Pedro Díaz made sharp saves throughout to keep Cusco in it, but Giorgian De Arrascaeta sealed the win in the 90+2nd minute.

Flamengo top Group A with a perfect start to their 2026 Libertadores campaign. Cusco FC's continental debut ends in defeat, though Díaz's commanding display in goal gave the home fans something to hold on to.
