Ashley Westwood opened the scoring in the 30th minute with his first goal of the season, firing a first-touch effort from inside the box to give the hosts a deserved lead. That advantage held until the 78th minute, when Danley Jean Jacques struck to pull Philadelphia level and silence Bank of America Stadium.
The celebrations were short-lived. Just two minutes later, Zaha restored Charlotte's lead on the counter-attack, side-footing a volley home off a perfectly weighted cross from Pep Biel to seal the points.
