Cerro Largo vs Nacional

Nacional made it four straight away wins over Cerro Largo, closing out a 2-0 victory at the Estadio Ubilla despite the hosts starting brightly. Cerro Largo pushed hard in the opening minutes and created real chances, but goalkeeper Luis Mejía stood tall, twice denying Axel Pandiani in the 33rd minute to keep the visitors ahead. The breakthrough came just before that, when Tiziano Correa headed home a cross from Gastón Martirena in the 31st minute. Maximiliano Gómez doubled the lead in the 57th minute, pouncing on a goalkeeper error at the back for Cerro Largo. Maximiliano Silvera then rattled the post for Nacional, while Cerro Largo's Diego Daguerre struck the crossbar late on in a final push for a way back into the game. Nicolás Rodríguez picked up a yellow card for Nacional in the first half, but there was no further discipline drama. The result keeps Nacional firmly in the mix on both fronts, sitting just points off the Clausura and Annual table leaders despite missing several defenders through injury and international call-ups. For Cerro Largo, it's another frustrating afternoon at home — chances created but no reward, and the winless run in this tournament continues.
