Lanús vs Always Ready
Match Report
Lanús claimed their first Copa Libertadores win of 2026, edging Always Ready 1-0 at home in Group G. A second-half strike broke a stubborn deadlock and handed the Argentine side a hard-fought but deserved three points.
Yoshan Valois was the hero, finding the net in the 67th minute to put Lanús ahead. The match turned uglier late on when Always Ready defender Luis Caicedo was shown a straight red card in the 87th minute, capping a miserable night for the Bolivians. Earlier, José Canale (Lanús, 12'), Richet Gómez (65') and Fernando Nava (83') had all been booked.
The result gives Lanús a much-needed lift after a first-round defeat away to Mirassol in Brazil. Always Ready, who also lost their opener against Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito, remain pointless after two games and face a steep climb in Group G.
