Match Report

Verona pulled off a stunning comeback at the Dall'Ara, beating Bologna 2-1 to snap a 12-game winless run in Serie A. All three goals arrived in a breathless eight-minute second-half spell. Jonathan Rowe opened the scoring on 49 minutes with his first Serie A goal, sweeping home from Nadir Zortea's low cross. The lead lasted barely four minutes as Martin Frese thundered in an equaliser from the edge of the box (53'), before Kieron Bowie completed the turnaround on 57 minutes, firing home from Gift Orban's cutback. Amin Sarr thought he had added a third for the visitors late on, but VAR chalked it off for a foul in the build-up. The result dents Bologna's European hopes, leaving them 11 points behind sixth-placed Juventus. For rock-bottom Verona, it's only their third league win of the season — but it could prove the most important in their survival fight.
