Match Report
Boca Juniors snapped a frustrating run of four consecutive home draws with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Instituto at La Bombonera on Saturday night. Eighteen-year-old Tomás Aranda stole the show, scoring his first ever professional goal to spark the hosts into life.
Aranda broke the deadlock five minutes into the second half, cutting inside and curling a right-footed beauty into the far corner. Adam Bareiro doubled the advantage ten minutes later with a close-range finish that survived a VAR offside review.
Instituto thought they had pulled one back through Jeremías Lázaro, but VAR again intervened to chalk it off for offside. Boca goalkeeper Agustín Marchesín was forced off with an injury late on, replaced by Leandro Brey.
The win lifts Boca to sixth in Zone A with 17 points and extends their unbeaten streak to eight matches. Instituto remain 12th on 12 points, still searching for consistency on the road.
