Atalanta edged past bottom club Verona 1-0 to provide some relief after their midweek Champions League elimination by Bayern Munich. Davide Zappacosta struck the only goal on 37 minutes, drilling a low effort from the edge of the box that deflected through a sea of legs and crept inside the far post.
