Match Report
Al Riyadh snatched a dramatic share of the spoils against Al Shabab in Round 27 of the Saudi Pro League, the match finishing 1-1 at Prince Faisal bin Fahad Stadium. The standout moment came in the dying seconds of the first half, when Enes Sali levelled to deny the visitors all three points.
Al Shabab had taken the lead on 34 minutes through an Abderrazak Hamdallah penalty — the forward stepping up and converting calmly from the spot to put the away side in front. Sali had the final word, however, equalising in the 45+3rd minute to send both teams into the break level. The second half was feisty, with Abdulelah Al-Khaibri, Sali, and Josh Brownhill all picking up yellow cards, though no red cards were shown.
The result is a genuine boost for Al Riyadh, who had not beaten Al Shabab in any of their previous six league meetings. For the visitors, it is two frustrating points dropped against a side they have traditionally dominated.
