Match Report

Crystal Palace are through to their first-ever European quarter-final after Ismaïla Sarr's extra-time brace secured a 1-2 win away to AEK Larnaca in the Conference League last 16. Sarr struck early on 13 minutes, finishing coolly after a neat through ball from Adam Wharton. AEK hit back through Enric Saborit's towering header from a corner on 63 minutes, but the defender saw red ten minutes later for a second bookable offence on Sarr. Despite their numerical advantage, Palace couldn't find a winner in regulation. Sarr finally settled it in the 99th minute, slamming home Daichi Kamada's pull-back to make it 1-2 on the night and on aggregate. A late red for Petros Ioannou capped a miserable finish for the hosts, who ended with nine men. The Eagles now face Fiorentina in the last eight — uncharted territory for the south London club.
