Ukraine U21 vs Albania U21

Ukraine U21 and Albania U21 shared a wild 2-2 draw in Eger, Hungary, as Erald Maksuti's stoppage-time header denied Ukraine a win they had all but secured. Albania U21 struck first through Kevin Dodaj's near-post finish in the 18th minute. Ukraine levelled through an Oleksiy Talpa penalty in the 55th, and Talpa turned provider a minute later as Dmytro Bohdanov put the hosts in front. The game swung on discipline: Vashchenko was sent off in the 68th for a retaliatory foul, and with an injured Bohdanov also off the pitch, ten-man Ukraine couldn't hold on as Maksuti struck in the 90th. For Ukraine U21, already eliminated from Euro 2027 qualifying before kickoff, this was a low-stakes run-out, and the draw won't sting beyond missing a late win. Albania U21, preparing as co-hosts of that tournament, will take confidence from the resilience shown in fighting back twice against tougher opposition.
