Netherlands U21 vs Belgium U21
Seacon - De Koel
2026
Match Report
Debutant Ayoub Oufkir stole the show as Netherlands U21 beat Belgium U21 2-1 in a friendly at De Koel in Venlo. The AZ winger, one of eleven new caps handed starts by coach Michael Reiziger, was directly involved in both Dutch goals on a commanding first-half display.
Devin Haen headed home from an Oufkir corner in the 13th minute to open the scoring, before Oufkir himself doubled the lead with a composed left-footed finish in the 37th. Belgium pulled one back through Norman Bassette in the 74th minute on the counter, though Dutch players appealed in vain for offside.
Despite Belgium enjoying 60% possession, the hosts looked far more clinical — firing 21 shots to just eight in reply. A morale-boosting win for Reiziger's young side and a debut to remember for Oufkir.
