Match Report
Bayern Munich staged one of the Bundesliga season's most dramatic comebacks, overturning a 3-0 halftime deficit to win 3-4 at Mainz — the first time since 2008 they had trailed by three goals at the break in a league game.
Mainz were superb in the opening half. Dominik Kohr broke the deadlock in the 15th minute, Paul Nebel made it 2-0 on the counter (29'), and Sheraldo Becker added a third deep into stoppage time (45+3'). Manager Vincent Kompany answered with a bold double substitution at half-time, introducing Harry Kane and Michael Olise. The pair delivered. Nicolas Jackson sparked the revival (53'), Olise arrowed a stunning 23-metre strike (73'), Jamal Musiala levelled (80'), and Kane slotted home the winner three minutes later. No red cards or penalties — just pure drama.
The result keeps Bayern firmly on course for the title and set a new Bundesliga record of 53 away goals in a season. For Mainz, a brilliant first half turned to heartbreak.
