The Estonia national football team, governed by the Eesti Jalgpalli Liit (EJL) and affiliated with UEFA, has had a turbulent yet improving history in international football. Estonia's football was interrupted during Soviet occupation but resumed following independence in 1991, with the team re-joining FIFA and UEFA. Estonia famously beat Finland 2-0 in 2021, contributing to Finland's Nations League relegation. The team plays its home matches at A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn, which holds around 9,700 spectators. Notable players include Konstantin Vassiljev and Ragnar Klavan, the latter having played in the Premier League with Liverpool. Estonia competes in UEFA Nations League and World Cup qualifiers and has demonstrated steady improvement under recent coaching. The squad relies primarily on players from domestic and Nordic leagues.
