The Jordan national football team, governed by the Jordan Football Association, competes in the AFC Asian Football Confederation. Jordan reached a historic milestone by qualifying for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 2026, having long been a competitive but inconsistent presence in Asian football. The team's most celebrated achievement before that was reaching the final of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, ultimately finishing as runners-up after defeating South Korea and Iraq en route. Their home ground is the Amman International Stadium, and the team has developed notable players such as Baha' Faisal and Ahmad Hayel. Under dedicated coaching, Jordan has progressively improved in Asian football, combining domestic-based players with diaspora talents competing abroad. The World Cup qualification marks a defining chapter in Jordanian football history.
