Differdange vs Ilves

Differdange and Ilves Tampere opened their UEFA Conference League first qualifying round tie with a goalless stalemate on July 8 at Stade Parc des Sports Oberkorn, watched by a crowd of 1,355. Neither side found the net, but the evening produced plenty of card drama. Juan Bedouret was cautioned for Differdange in the 17th minute, but the standout incident was reserved for Jesse Kilo of Ilves, who came on as a substitute at 62', was immediately booked, and was sent off with a second yellow just three minutes later. Late yellows for Matias Rale and Jardell Kanga compounded a miserable disciplinary evening for the Finnish visitors. Despite finishing with ten men, Ilves kept a clean sheet, leaving the first leg scoreless. Everything remains to play for in the return fixture on July 16 in Tampere.
