Inter made a commanding statement at the Stadio Olimpico, brushing aside Lazio with a 3-0 Serie A victory on Matchday 36. The already-crowned Scudetto holders looked ruthless from the first whistle. Lautaro Martinez broke the deadlock just six minutes in, before Sucic doubled the advantage with a composed finish in the 39th minute. Lazio's afternoon turned grimmer when Romagnoli was shown a straight red card following a VAR review in the 59th minute, leaving ten men to battle out the remainder. Mkhitaryan wrapped things up on 76 minutes to complete a dominant display. With the Coppa Italia final between these two sides pencilled in for May 13, the result carries extra weight beyond three points. Inter arrive at that showpiece brimming with confidence, while Lazio face the added headache of losing Romagnoli to suspension, a significant blow ahead of the cup decider.
