FC Zimbru Chișinău

FC Zimbru Chișinău is Moldova's most decorated football club, founded in 1947 in the capital city Chișinău. The club dominated Moldovan football in the 1990s following independence, winning eight national championships between 1992 and 2003, a record in the country. They play home matches at Stadionul Zimbru, which holds 10,500 spectators. Zimbru has represented Moldova in European competition on multiple occasions, including qualifying rounds for the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Cup, and UEFA Europa League. The club has developed numerous players who went on to represent the Moldovan national team. In recent years, Zimbru has faced domestic competition from FC Sheriff Tiraspol, which has come to dominate Moldovan football, but the Chișinău club remains a historic and beloved institution in the country's footballing culture.
