Pérez Zeledón

Pérez Zeledón, formally known as Asociación Deportiva Municipal Pérez Zeledón, was founded in 1962 in San Isidro de El General in the scenic Chirripó highlands of Costa Rica. The club competes in the Primera División and plays its home matches at the Estadio Municipal Pérez Zeledón, which holds 6,000 spectators. Although they have not matched the trophy hauls of rivals like Saprissa or Alajuelense, Pérez Zeledón has established itself as a proud representative of the southern region of the country, often punching above its weight against bigger clubs. The team has enjoyed multiple stints in the top flight and developed locally grown talent who have gone on to represent Costa Rica nationally. The club's passionate regional fanbase gives it a strong community identity within Costa Rican football.
