VfL Wolfsburg

VfL Wolfsburg, founded in 1945, is based in Wolfsburg, a city in Lower Saxony, northern Germany, purpose-built around the Volkswagen headquarters. Competing in the Bundesliga, the club plays at the Volkswagen Arena and maintains a uniquely close relationship with the automotive giant. Known as the Wolves, Wolfsburg won their first and only Bundesliga title in 2009 under coach Felix Magath, with striker Edin Dzeko firing them to the championship. The club also claimed the DFB-Pokal in 1995. Their women's team is one of the most successful in European football, winning multiple Champions League titles. Wolfsburg is known for their corporate backing, well-maintained infrastructure, and a attacking, dynamic style of play that regularly keeps them competitive in European competition.
