Torpedo Kutaisi
Torpedo Kutaisi is a professional football club based in Kutaisi, Georgia's second-largest city, founded in 1946. The club plays its home matches at the Ramaz Shengelias Sakhelobis Stadioni, which accommodates 19,400 supporters. Torpedo are one of Georgia's most successful clubs, having won the Georgian Umaglesi Liga multiple times since independence, with league titles in 1999 and 2001. The club has competed in UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League qualifying rounds, representing Georgia on the continental stage. After a period of decline in the mid-2000s, the club was refounded and rebuilt, gradually returning to the top tier of Georgian football. Torpedo Kutaisi remains an important club for regional football development in western Georgia, serving as a rival to the Tbilisi-based giants.
