Myanmar
The Myanmar national football team, formerly known as Burma, is governed by the Myanmar Football Federation and competes within the Asian Football Confederation. The team was a founding member of the AFC in 1954 and enjoyed success in Southeast Asian football during the 1960s and 1970s, winning the Southeast Asian Games football tournament multiple times. Myanmar participates in AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, FIFA World Cup qualifiers, and the ASEAN Football Federation Championship. Home matches are played at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon and the Mandalay Stadium. The team has historically been one of Southeast Asia's stronger sides but has faced challenges in keeping pace with the rapidly developing football nations in the region. The MFF has invested in youth development and coaching to revitalize Myanmar's footballing competitiveness in ASEAN competition.
