RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig, founded in 2009 after energy drink company Red Bull GmbH purchased the rights of a fifth-division club, became one of European football's most remarkable modern stories by reaching the Bundesliga in just seven years and the Champions League semi-finals in 2020. The club plays at the Red Bull Arena in central Leipzig, a 47,000-capacity modern stadium, and won back-to-back DFB-Pokal titles in 2022 and 2023, as well as the 2023 DFL-Supercup. Built on a model of high-intensity pressing and developing young talent under sporting director Ralf Rangnick, Leipzig have launched the careers of Timo Werner, Dayot Upamecano, Christopher Nkunku, and Dominik Szoboszlai. They remain one of the most influential clubs in German and European football despite their brief history.
