Sverige
The Sweden national football team, governed by the Swedish Football Association (SvFF) and one of Europe's most historically consistent nations, has a proud international record spanning over a century. Sweden hosted and finished third at the 1958 FIFA World Cup, losing the final to a legendary Brazil side. They finished third again in 1994 in the United States, led by Tomas Brolin and Martin Dahlin. The country's greatest player, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, is Sweden's all-time top scorer and one of football's most iconic figures. Other legends include Henrik Larsson and Gunnar Nordahl. Sweden qualified for the 2018 World Cup and eliminated Italy in the play-offs, reaching the quarter-finals. Home matches are played at Friends Arena in Solna. Currently rebuilding after Ibrahimovic's second international retirement, Sweden remains a respected European football nation with strong league infrastructure and youth development.
