The club competes in the Veikkausliiga, Finland's top professional division, and plays home matches at Jakobstads Centralplan (Pietarsaaren Keskuskenttä), a ground with a capacity of 4,600. Jaro has experienced several promotions and relegations over its history, establishing itself as one of Finland's yo-yo clubs between the top two divisions. The club has a strong local identity in this predominantly Swedish-speaking region of Finland and has developed numerous Finnish internationals over the decades. Notable alumni include players who went on to careers in Scandinavia and continental Europe. FC Jaro's resilience and community support make them a respected institution in Finnish club football.
