Puskás Akadémia
Puskás Akadémia FC was founded in 2007 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in Felcsút, a small village in western Hungary. Named after legendary Hungarian footballer Ferenc Puskás, the club competes in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, Hungary's top division, and plays at the architecturally distinctive Pancho Aréna, a 3,865-seat stadium praised for its wooden design. Despite their modest hometown, the club has achieved considerable success under significant state backing, winning their first Hungarian championship in 2022. Puskás Akadémia has also participated in UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying rounds, giving the club European experience. The academy's emphasis on youth development honours the legacy of Puskás, aiming to produce technically skilled Hungarian footballers. Their story reflects Hungary's modern ambitions in football development.
