Deportivo Riestra
Club Deportivo Riestra was founded in 1931 in the Mataderos neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. A historically modest club, Riestra spent many decades competing in the lower divisions of Argentine football before achieving promotion to the Liga Profesional Argentina for the first time in 2024, a historic milestone for the club and its devoted local fan base. The club plays home matches at Estadio Guillermo Laza, a compact 3,000-capacity ground that reflects the club's deep community roots. Riestra is a working-class Buenos Aires club with a passionate following in the Mataderos district. Their promotion to the top tier of Argentine football marked a new chapter in their history, presenting both the challenges and the rewards of competing against some of the most storied clubs in South American football for the first time.
