The Belarus national football team is governed by the Football Federation of Belarus and competes in UEFA European Championship and FIFA World Cup qualifying campaigns. Formed in 1992 following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the team has yet to qualify for a major international tournament, but has produced notable players including Alexander Hleb, who starred for Arsenal and Barcelona. Belarus has also been home to talented goalkeepers and domestic league players who have competed across Eastern European leagues. Home matches are played at the Dynamo Stadium in Minsk. In recent years, Belarus football has faced challenges including geopolitical pressures affecting their home fixtures, with UEFA temporarily banning Belarus from hosting competitive matches. The team continues to build through its domestic pyramid and youth development.
