Real Betis

Real Betis Balompié, founded in 1907 in the Andalusian capital of Seville and known for their iconic green-and-white striped kit, play at the magnificent 60,720-capacity Estadio Benito Villamarín in the Heliópolis neighbourhood. The club won their only La Liga title in 1935 under Irish coach Patrick O'Connell and hold three Copa del Rey crowns — the most recent in 2022 under Manuel Pellegrini, ending a 17-year wait for major silverware. Pellegrini's tenure since 2020 has been defined by attacking, free-flowing football and a fifth-place La Liga finish in 2021-22 that earned European football. The irreplaceable Joaquín Sánchez, who retired in 2023 holding the La Liga appearance record, remains the club's most beloved modern figure, while Real Betis' passionate, colourful fanbase is among the most devoted in Spain.
