FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona, founded in 1899 by Swiss businessman Joan Gamper and playing at Camp Nou in the Les Corts district of Barcelona — Europe's largest football stadium with a capacity of 99,354 — is one of the most recognisable sporting institutions on earth, embodying Catalan identity and the famous motto 'Més que un club' (More than a club). The club has won 28 La Liga titles, 31 Copa del Rey trophies (the most in Spanish football), and five Champions League titles, including a historic sextuple in 2009 under Pep Guardiola. Johan Cruyff, Lionel Messi — who spent 2003-2021 at the club winning 35 trophies — Xavi Hernández, and Andrés Iniesta are among the greatest names to have worn the blaugrana. Under Hansi Flick in 2024-25, Barcelona won the domestic treble with young talents Lamine Yamal and Pedri leading a celebrated renaissance.
