Asteras Tripolis
Asteras Tripolis FC is a professional football club based in Tripoli, in the Peloponnese region of southern Greece, founded in 1931. The club plays its home matches at the Stadio Theodoros Kolokotronis, with a capacity of approximately 7,700. Despite coming from one of Greece's smaller football cities, Asteras Tripolis punched above their weight significantly in the 2010s, qualifying for European competition and reaching the UEFA Europa League group stage in the 2013-14 season — a landmark achievement for the club. They defeated Panathinaikos for a historic Europa League berth. Competing in the Super League 1, Asteras Tripolis represent provincial Greek football's capacity to challenge the established Athens and Thessaloniki clubs. The club remains an important part of community life in Tripoli and the broader Arcadia region.
