SC Bastia

Sporting Club de Bastia is a French professional football club founded in 1905 and based in Bastia, the principal city of Upper Corsica on the island of Corsica, France. The club plays its home matches at the Stade Armand Cesari in Furiani, a venue with a deeply sorrowful history — the site of the tragic 1992 Furiani disaster that claimed 18 lives. Bastia experienced its golden era in the 1970s and 1980s, competing in UEFA competitions and winning the Coupe de France in 1981. The club is known as Les Bleus (The Blues) and has one of the most passionate and fiercely loyal fanbases in France, with Corsican identity playing a central role in the club's culture. Bastia continues to fight to restore its former standing in French football.
