Νότιγχαμ Φόρεστ
Nottingham Forest Football Club, founded in 1865 and playing at the City Ground on the banks of the River Trent, holds one of the most extraordinary records in football history: under the brilliant and eccentric Brian Clough, a club from England's East Midlands won back-to-back European Cups in 1979 and 1980, defeating Malmö and Hamburg respectively — becoming one of the only clubs to have won the continental trophy more times than their domestic league title. Clough had guided Forest from the Second Division to the First Division title in 1978 in just three seasons. After 23 years outside the Premier League, Forest returned in 2022 and under Nuno Espírito Santo qualified for European competition in 2024-25 — their first continental football in 30 years — finishing seventh to earn a Europa League place. No English club outside the established elite has ever matched their European achievement.
