Ecuador
The Ecuador national football team, known as La Tri, is governed by the Federación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol and competes under CONMEBOL. Ecuador has qualified for the FIFA World Cup four times: 2002, 2006, 2014, and 2022. Their best tournament performance came in 2006 when they reached the round of sixteen in Germany. The team plays its home matches at Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado in Quito. Notable players in Ecuador's history include Agustín Delgado, Ivan Kaviedes, Antonio Valencia, and Enner Valencia, the latter being the country's all-time top scorer. Ecuador also won the 1993 Copa Inca and has produced several South American Under-20 talents. Under coaches such as Hernán Darío Gómez and Gustavo Alfaro, La Tri has developed a disciplined, tactically organised playing style.
