Ivory Coast
The Côte d'Ivoire national football team, commonly known as the Elephants, is one of Africa's most celebrated sides. Founded in 1960, the team is governed by the FIF and plays home matches at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan. The Ivory Coast reached the FIFA World Cup in 2006, 2010, and 2014, dazzling global audiences with a golden generation including Didier Drogba, Yaya Touré, Kolo Touré, and Salomon Kalou. The Elephants won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1992 and 2015, and claimed the 2023 AFCON title on home soil in dramatic fashion. Under coach Emerse Faé, the team triumphed in Abidjan, defeating Nigeria in the final. Côte d'Ivoire remains one of the continent's most feared and talent-rich football nations.
