Puntarenas FC is a professional football club based in the port city of Puntarenas on Costa Rica's Pacific coast. Established in 2004, the club rose relatively quickly through Costa Rican football, earning promotion to the Primera División. The team plays home matches at the Estadio Municipal de Puntarenas Miguel Ángel Lito Pérez Treacy, which holds around 4,105 spectators and provides a lively atmosphere despite its modest size. Puntarenas represents an important footballing hub on Costa Rica's Pacific coast, giving the region a voice in the top tier of national football. While the club has not yet captured a league title, it has remained competitive in the Primera División and continues to develop local talent, forming an important part of the footballing identity of the coastal community.
