Mirassol Futebol Clube was founded in 1925 in Mirassol, a city of around 60,000 in the interior of São Paulo state, Brazil. Known as the Leão da Alta Araraquarense (Lion of Alta Araraquarense) or simply Leãozinho, they play in yellow, green, and white. Their home stadium is the Municipal José Maria de Campos Maia, known as Maião, with a capacity of 14,534. Mirassol enjoyed a remarkable rise through Brazilian football, winning the Série C title in 2022 and finishing Série B runners-up in 2024 to earn their first-ever promotion to Série A. In their debut top-flight season, they broke records for the best-ever debut campaign and secured a 2026 Copa Libertadores group-stage place by finishing in the top four. The club is praised for its modern training facilities, youth focus, and financial sustainability.
