Atlético Mineiro
Clube Atlético Mineiro, founded on March 25, 1908, in Belo Horizonte by 22 students and nicknamed Galo (the Rooster), plays at the Arena MRV — a technologically advanced 46,000-capacity stadium inaugurated in 2023 and the most modern club-owned arena in Brazil. The club has won two Campeonato Brasileiro national titles (1971, 2021) and lifted the Copa Libertadores in 2013, defeating Olimpia of Paraguay in a campaign of extraordinary drama. The 2021 season was the most remarkable in the club's history: winning the Brasileirão, Copa do Brasil, and Campeonato Mineiro in the same calendar year — a historic triple crown. Club legends include Reinaldo, whose 144 goals remain the all-time record, and Ronaldinho, who enchanted fans from 2012 to 2014 in the final flourish of his career.
