Bhutan
The Bhutan national football team represents one of the world's smallest footballing nations, a Himalayan kingdom with a population of less than one million. Governed by the Bhutan Football Federation, affiliated with FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation, the team has historically ranked among the lowest in the FIFA world rankings. A memorable moment came in 2002 on the same day as the FIFA World Cup Final, when Bhutan played Montserrat in what was dubbed the Other Final, winning 4–0 in Thimphu. The team plays home matches at Changlimithang Stadium, the country's national stadium with a capacity of around 15,000, located in the capital. Development of the sport has accelerated through AFC grassroots programs and a growing domestic league.
