Club Atletico Sarmiento de Junin was founded on 20 February 1911 in the city of Junin, Buenos Aires province, Argentina. The club is named after Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, the celebrated Argentine statesman and educator. Known as 'El Verde' due to its green kit, Sarmiento plays its home matches at the Estadio Eva Peron in Junin.
