Newell's Old Boys was founded in 1903 in Rosario, Argentina, and is one of the country's most iconic football clubs. The club plays home matches at the Estadio Marcelo Alberto Bielsa, known affectionately as "El Coloso del Parque," with a capacity of approximately 42,000. Newell's has won multiple Argentine Primera División titles and is renowned globally for producing exceptional football talent, most notably Lionel Messi and Gabriel Batistuta. The club also gave Marcelo Bielsa his early coaching breakthrough, and the stadium now bears his name. Newell's shares an intense derby rivalry with Rosario Central. Competing in the Liga Profesional, the club continues to prioritise its celebrated youth academy and remains a cornerstone of Rosario's rich footballing culture.
