Comerciantes Unidos
Comerciantes Unidos is a Peruvian football club founded in 2002 and based in Cutervo, a city in the Cajamarca region of northern Peru. The club competes in the Liga 1, Peru's top professional football division, and plays home matches at Estadio Juan Maldonado Gamarra, which can accommodate around 10,030 supporters. The club's name, translating as United Traders, reflects the commercial identity of Cutervo, a regional market city. Comerciantes Unidos has been one of the more surprising stories in Peruvian football, earning promotion to the first division and competing against Lima-based giants. Their presence in the Liga 1 is a source of great regional pride for Cajamarca. The club continues developing northern Peruvian talent and working to maintain their status as a top-flight side.
